[A poem by Mr. Samudrala Harikrishna titled ‘Dissonance’.]
A splendid golden Dawn
Coaxing you to look on and on
A Serenely flowing, winding Brook
Abode for the migratory from every Nook
Nothing but its gentle gurgle
Music to the connoisseurs in the jungle!
The bell-flower dancing in the breeze
The creeper swaying merrily to and fro
The chirpy food-hunters above
The Green lustrous Woods, the neighbour
Choc-a- block, the Riches of Yore
The far away sea-tide roaring in glee
The encircling mountain-range aglow
The persistent cuckoo’s invitations galore
The heady smell of the flora around!
The Nature’s ballad flowing in harmony
Every note blending, in a perfect Symphony
Arrives a Sapien, claiming to be the King
Alas, Nothing is left the same for long!
***
Oh, the Dissonance He dumps into it
The Modern Man, the spoiler Ultimate
Off-key with the Song Sublime as a Whole
Leaving it, a silent Mourner, loser of its Soul!
