[A poem by Mr. Samudrala Harikrishna titled ‘Lullaby!’.]
What’s there in a Lullaby
That puts to sleep, the cute Baby
The mother’s flowery Tenderness
Or the child’s divine Innocence?!
The softness of the Expressions
The song’s flowing Silences
The drawling tune’s Cadences
What puts to sleep, the cute baby?!
The humming of the Mothers
The patting with the kindly fingers
The affectionate nectar-filled Looks
What puts to sleep, the cute baby?!
The mother knows Not
She’s lost in thoughts for her Tot
The baby, no way it Cares
Lost ever, gazing into mother’s Eyes!
The child in mother’s protective Glove
A lullaby, the outpouring of her Love
Song of a Mother’s Heart, Non-pareil
Song Of a child’s choice, Ever-musical!
And it sure works, a lullaby by a Mother
A string of esoteric tones to the Child’s Ear
A concert expecting none else to listen
A lullaby is a lullaby is a lullaby, Amen!
