[A poem by Ms. C. Adhvika titled ‘To The Sea’.]
Beneath the sand, small and light,
young turtles wait, prepared to fight.
Sharp claws hide beneath the shore,
hungry birds above them soar.
The waves push back with all their might,
yet still they crawl toward the light.
Their shells shake with every stride,
yet hope still pulls them with the tide.
Many fall along the way,
yet the determined reach the sea someday,
disappearing beneath the endless waves,
where one fight fades
and another rises
in a world no kinder than the shore.
