[A poem by Mani garu titled ‘Summer Sun’.]
O Sun
Of course it is Summer!
But no need to be so hard on yourself.
Don’t ignite too much fire around you,
You will get burnt and hurt
Don’t suffer alone,
share your pain,
cool yourself for a while.
Sometimes,
it is ok to let the wind blow cold around you,
borrowing the coolness from the rivers.
It is ok to let the nights heal your burns.
Sky is making clouds to take away your pain and rain.
But they are still in the offing.
When they mature,
The gusts of the wind give company to the clouds
Lightening and thunders tag along..
So wait.
Don’t ignite too much fire around you
Don’t be too hard on yourself.
