ఆ రోజు… నా టేబిల్ మీద ఫోన్ గణగణా మ్రోగింది. రిసీవర్ ఎత్తి…
“హలో… ఎవరండి?” అడిగాను.
“హలో సార్… నేను జనరల్ మేనేజర్ మాలకొండారెడ్డి గారి పి.ఎ.ని మాట్లాడుతున్నాను! సార్ మీతో మాట్లాడుతారట! లైన్‍లో ఉండండి సార్!” చెప్పింది అవతలి కంఠం.
“అలాగేనండి!” అని చెప్పి, జనరల్ మేనేజర్ గారు నాతో ఏం మాట్లాడుతారబ్బా అనుకుంటూ ఆత్రుతతో ఎదురుచూడసాగాను. ఇంతలో జనరల్ మేనేజర్ గారు లైన్ లోకి వచ్చారు.
“ఆ! ఏమయ్యా! ఎలా వున్నావ్? ఎలా వుంది మీ బ్రాంచ్?”
“సార్! నమస్తే సార్! నేను బాగున్నాను సార్! మా బ్రాంచ్ కూడా చాలా బాగుంది సార్!”
“గుడ్.. ఇప్పుడు నీకో ముఖ్యమైన విషయం చెప్పబోతున్నాను… కంగారు పడకుండా.. విను!”
“చెప్పండి సార్!”
“నిన్ను చైతన్య గ్రామీణ బ్యాంక్‍కి ఛైర్మన్‍గా పోస్ట్ చేస్తున్నాము. ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్ ఆర్డర్ ఈ రోజే పంపిస్తున్నాము. వెంటనే తెనాలి వెళ్ళి అక్కడ జాయిన్ అవ్వు!”
“సార్… సార్… అదేంటి సార్! నేను ఇక్కడకు వచ్చి ఒక సంవత్సరమే కదా సార్! అప్పుడే నాకు ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్ ఏంటి సార్! ఇక్కడ బాగానే చేస్తున్నాను కదా సార్!”
“అవును… నిజమే… సంవత్సరమే అయింది అక్కడికి నువ్వు వచ్చి… అక్కడ నువ్వు బాగానే చేస్తున్నావు కూడా… అందులో ఎలాంటి సందేహం లేదు. కాని… చైతన్య గ్రామీణ బ్యాంక్‍కు నీ సేవలు చాలా అవసరం అయ్యాయి. పైగా అది చాలా పెద్ద పదవి క్రింద లెక్క… అక్కడ నువ్ బాగా చేయగలవు. నీ కెరీర్ డెవలప్‍మెంట్‌కు చాలా ఉపయోగపడుతుంది ఆ పోస్ట్. మరో విధంగా ఆలోచించకుండా, ఆర్డర్ రాగానే వెళ్ళి అక్కడ జాయిన్ అవ్వు… సరేనా?” అంటూ గద్దించి అడిగారు జనరల్ మేనేజర్ గారు.
“అలాగేనండి!” నిర్లిప్తంగా చెప్పాను.
“గుడ్! అక్కడ జాయిన్ అయిన తరువాత ఫోన్ చెయ్! ఆల్ ది బెస్ట్!”… రిసీవర్ పెట్టేసిన శబ్దం వినిపించింది.

అప్పటిదాకా జరిగింది కలా… నిజమా… ఏమీ అర్థం కావడం లేదు. తల వేడెక్కింది. ఆలోచనలు పరిపరి విధాలుగా పరిగెడుతున్నాయి.
ఎందుకిలా జరిగింది? ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే బ్రాంచ్ పనితీరుపై పూర్తిగా పట్టు సాధిస్తున్నాను. ఖాతాదారులతో సత్సంబంధాలు నెలకొన్నాయి. కరీంనగర్ పట్టణానికి, ఇక్కడి స్థితిగతులకు నేను, మా కుటుంబం బాగా అలవాటు పడ్డాము. ఇప్పుడే మరల వేరే చోటికి వెళ్ళాలి… అంటే ఎందుకో నా మనసు ఎదురు తిరుగుతోంది. అయినా హెడ్ ఆఫీసు వారు ఎక్కడ పోస్ట్ చేస్తే, అక్కడకు వెళ్ళి పని చేయవలసిందే కదా! అదైతే తప్పదు కదా! పైగా నా కెరీర్‍కు ప్లస్ అవుతుందని చెప్పారు జనరల్ మేనేజర్ గారు… అదీ నిజమే కదా!
ఇంకో విషయం… నేను వెళ్తుంది తెనాలికి, గుంటూరు జిల్లాకి. అలా, మా వాళ్ళందరికీ దగ్గరగా వుండబోతున్నాను. అది సంతోషించదగ్గ విషయమే కదా!
ఇవన్నీ ఒక ఎత్తైతే, గ్రామీణ బ్యాంకు శాఖల ద్వారా, గ్రామీణ ప్రజలకు సేవ చేస్తూ, గ్రామీణాభివృద్ధికి నేను కృషి చేయవచ్చు అనేది… నిర్వివాదాంశం… అది నా అదృష్టం… నాకు వ్యక్తిగతంగా అత్యంత సంతృప్తిని మరియు సంతోషాన్ని కలగజేసే విషయం.
ఇలా పరుగులిడుతున్న నా ఆలోచనలతో నా మనసు కాస్త సంబాళించింది. ఇక తెనాలి వెళ్ళేందుకే మొగ్గు చూపిస్తుంది.

నా బదిలీ విషయం సిబ్బందికి చెప్పాను.
“అదేంటి సార్! అప్పుడే మీకు ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్ ఏంటి? అందరం బాగా కలిసిపోయాం కదా సార్! మరికొంత కాలం మీరు ఇక్కడే ఉంటే బాగుంటుంది కదా సార్!” అంటూ ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని వెలిబుచ్చారు వాళ్ళంతా..
“మీరు చెప్పిందీ నిజమే! కాని… మన చేతుల్లో ఏముంది చెప్పండి? ఈ విషయంలో మనం చేయగలిగింది ఏమీ లేదు! హెడ్ ఆఫీసు వారు ఎలా చెప్తే అలా నడుచుకోవడం తప్ప!” వేదాంత ధోరణిలో చెప్పాను.

ఆ రోజు సాయంత్రం పెందలకడే ఇంటికి వెళ్ళి, నా భార్యా పిల్లలతో నా బదిలీ విషయం చెప్పాను.
“అదేంటండీ! సంవత్సరానికే మరలా ట్రాన్స్‌ఫరా!!” అంటూ నోరెళ్ళబెట్టింది నా శ్రీమతి. అమాయకంగా చూస్తున్నారు పిల్లలు.
“మన చేతుల్లో ఏముంది చెప్పండి… హెడ్ ఆఫీసు వారి ఆర్డర్స్ ప్రకారం నడుచుకోవాల్సిందే కదా!” అని జనరల్ మేనేజరు గారు చెప్పిన విషయాలను, తరువాత నా మదిలో మెదిలిన అలోచనలను, వారికి పూస గుచ్చినట్టు చెప్పాను.
“సరే లెండి! మన మంచి కోసమే అంటున్నారు కాబట్టి… సంతోషంగానే వెళ్దాం లేండి! పైగా, మనవాళ్ళందరికీ చాలా దగ్గరలో వుంటాం కదా!” అంటూ కళ్ళు పెద్దవి చేసి చెప్పింది నా శ్రీమతి. పిల్లలు కూడా తనతో మాట కలిపారు.

ఆరోజు చైతన్య గ్రామీణ బ్యాంకు ఛైర్మన్‍గా తెనాలికి నన్ను బదిలీ చేసినట్టు ఉత్తర్వులు అందాయి. అదే రోజు కరీంనగర్ రీజినల్ మేనేజర్ శ్రీ సురేంద్ర రెడ్డి గారికి కూడా పదోన్నతిపై వరంగల్ జోనల్ మేనేజర్‍గా బదిలీ చేసినట్టు ఉత్తర్వులు అందాయి. అదే సమయంలో, కరీంనగర్ రీజినల్ ఆఫీసు, జోనల్ ఆఫీసు స్థాయికి ఎదగడం వలన… జోనల్ మేనేజర్‍గా శ్రీ బి.టి. కాంతారావు గారిని నియమించారని తెలిసింది. నేను గుంటూరు రీజినల్ ఆఫీసులో లీడ్ డిస్ట్రిక్ట్ మేనేజరుగా పని చేసేటప్పుడు, శ్రీ బి.టి. కాంతారావు గారు గుంటూరు రీజినల్ మేనేజరుగా ఉండేవారు. నాకు సుపరిచితులు, మంచి వ్యక్తి మరియు గురుతుల్యులు కూడా.
అప్పుడే నా టేబిల్ మీద ఫోన్… ట్రింగ్… ట్రింగ్… అంది. మాట్లాడేందుకు రిసీవర్ తీశాను.
“హలో సార్! మీరు కరీంనగర్ బ్రాంచ్ చీఫ్ మేనేజరు గారేనాండి?” అడిగింది అవతలి కంఠం.
“అవునండి! మీరెవరు?” అడిగాను.
“సార్! నేను చైతన్య గ్రామీణ బ్యాంక్ ఛైర్మన్ గారి పి.ఎ. సురేష్‌ని సార్! మా ఛైర్మన్ గారు, రేపు ఇక్కడ రిలీవ్ అవుతున్నారు సార్! మీరెప్పుడు వస్తున్నారో తెలుసుకుందామని ఫోన్ చేస్తున్నాను సార్!”
“సురేష్ గారు! మీరు ఫోన్ చేసినందుకు చాలా సంతోషంగా వుంది. నేను కూడా రేపే రిలీవ్ అవుతాను. ఎల్లుండికి తెనాలికి ట్రయిన్‍లో వస్తాను. తెనాలి వచ్చేసరికి బహుశా సాయంత్రం నాలుగవచ్చు!”
“వెల్‍కం సార్! నేను ఆఫీస్ జీప్ తీసుకుని రైల్వే స్టేషన్‍కి వచ్చి మిమ్మల్ని రిసీవ్ చేసుకుంటానండి! మీకు హోటల్ సామ్రాట్‍లో సూట్ రిజర్వ్ చేస్తాను సార్!”
“అలాగే! థాంక్యూ సురేష్ గారూ!”
“గారు వద్దు సార్! సురేష్ అనండి!”
“సరే… సురేష్!”

ఓహో! నా వ్యక్తిగత విషయాల్లో సహాయకారిగా ఉండేందుకు అక్కడ నాకో పి.ఎ. కూడా వుంటారన్న మాట! అవున్లే… ఉద్యోగంలో హోదా పెరిగేకొద్దీ బాధ్యతలతో పాటు, వసతులు కూడా పెరుగుతుంటాయి కదా! రాబోయే రోజులు తలచుకుంటూ… కాసేపు… ఊహాలోకంలో విహరించాను.

ఆ రోజు ఉదయమే అసిస్టెంట్ జనరల్ మేనేజర్ శ్రీ బి.టి. కాంతారావు గారు కరీంనగర్ జోనల్ మేనేజర్‍గా పదవీ బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టారు. ఆ విషయం తెలియగానే వెంటనే వెళ్ళి వారిని మర్యాదపూర్వకంగా కలిశాను.
ఆ రోజు సాయంత్రం కరీంనగర్ రీజియన్ లోని శాఖాధిపతులు మరియు సిబ్బంది అందరూ కలిసి ఒక సభను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. బదిలీపై వెళ్తున్న నాకు, శ్రీ సురేంద్ర రెడ్డి గారికి వీడ్కోలు చెప్పడం మరియు కరీంనగర్ జోనల్ మేనేజర్‍గా జాయిన్ అయిన శ్రీ బి.టి. కాంతారావు గారికి స్వాగతం పలకడం ఆ సభ ఏర్పాటు ఉద్దేశం. నేను, రీజినల్ మేనేజర్ గారు అక్కడున్న వారందరికీ కొత్తేమీ కాదు. జోనల్ మేనేజర్ గారు మాత్రం అక్కడున్నవారిలో, నాలాంటి అతి కొద్దిమందికి మాత్రమే తెలిసి వుండవచ్చు. నాకైతే… గుంటూరు రీజినల్ ఆఫీసులో వారి దగ్గర పని చేసిన అనుభవం కూడా వుంది. అందుకే వారిని సభకు పరిచయం చేసే బాధ్యతను నాకు అప్పగించారు… ఆ సభా నిర్వాహకులు.

చివరిగా నోరూరించే పసందైన వంటకాలతో కూడిన భోజనాల అనంతరం, ఆనాటి కార్యక్రమం ముగిసింది.

When I had gone through ur write up I remember what happened to
Me exactly Like this I was transferred to Vishakhapatnam as Scake III BM from RO Bangalore before I completed my tenure if 3 years. With in 9 months I was transferred to ZO Chandigarh as CM PRS .Again I was transferred to Dharbhanga as Chairman RRB with in 9 months of posting at ZO Chandigarh When I asked GM PRS over phone his reply was yes we knew it but we want you at Dharbhanga and He had taken posting of All Officers from Agl Bsckingvas Chaurmaen of all RRBs of Bànk and he never wanted to cancel order But he had assured to extend his full support and after competeion of term at RRB the next post will be given as our choice We had joined at our respective posting.As promised he had given full support to us and also directed all Zonal Managers to ensure support from respective Zonal offices and regional Office .In my case he had permitted me to take my family and children to back to Vijayawada at Banks cost by Air as there was no
Proper schooling at Darbhanga -Bihar A border dist of Nepal . As promised after completion of our term we were all posted at places if our choice .Ibwas posted to Vijayawada as RM ie 1990 . Somebtimes Managemnt takes correct decisions though t is in convince to us but they used to help us abd take care in our career
I was also a successful Chairman of RRB We had an opportunity of discussing with ObikReddy committe on RRB staff salary system. It was a good exposure at the cost of family suffering
