[A poem by Mr. Samudrala Harikrishna titled ‘Bit by bit!’]

A CLIMBER!
The Slender stem creeps gingerly Along,
Now a bit, the morrow a foot, lo it’s so long
Longer and longer by the passing Minute
The growth immeasurable, ever so Minute!
Slithers on the land, climbs up the Roof
A springroll here, there a rakish Shoot-Off
It’s life as it unfolds, a spreading Glory
An enchantingly short but a sweet story!
It zooms up like a leafy rocket in a hurry
Give it a tiny support, you needn’t worry!
Willing to expand, no new shores barred
A sprightly being, a born giver, undeterred!
Laced by buds, eager to be hailed ‘Flowers’,
Gentle as gentle can be in their petal wings!
A shy mustardy, looking around in Delight
Sending the connoisseur on a fancy Flight!
Its dusky yellow petite offspring Blossoming
Fond of your sill and trellis, ever decorating
The Climber asks not a penny or Pound
It’s heart calm and warm, a Spirit Unbound!
