ఉదయాన్నే గుడికెళ్ళేందుకు తయారయ్యాడు సదానంద్. ఇంతలో జగన్నాధం నుండి ఫోన్. “సదానంద్ గారూ! ఈ విషయం మీకు తెలిసిందా?” ఆతృతగా అడిగాడు జగన్నాధం.
” ఏ విషయమండి?” నింపాదిగా అడిగాడు సదానంద్.
“అదేనండీ! మన రవిచంద్రగారబ్బాయి ఇప్పుడే ఫోన్ చేసి చెప్పాడు. డాన్ చనిపోయాడట!”
“అవునా! రవిచంద్రగారు వారంరోజుల నుండి చెప్తూనే వున్నారు. డాన్‍కు సుస్తీగా ఉందని, డాక్టరు చికిత్సకు కూడా… అంతగా.. సుగుణం కనబడడం లేదని. పాపం డాన్ కాలం చేశాడంటే, రవిచంద్రగారు ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులు ఎంతగా తల్లడిల్లిపోతుంటారో కదా!”
“అవునండీ! వాళ్ళందరికీ వాడంటే పంచ ప్రాణాలు.”
“సరే! నేను గుడి నుంచి వచ్చిన తరువాత రవిచంద్రగారికి ఫోన్ చేసి కొంచెం ఓదారుస్తాను. ఉంటానండి.”
“అలాగేనండి.”
ఇంతకీ సదానంద్, జగన్నాధం, రవిచంద్ర, డాన్… వీళ్లంతా ఎవరో చెప్పలేదు కదూ!
సదానంద్, జగన్నాధం… ఈ మధ్యనే ఓ ప్రభుత్వరంగ బ్యాంకు నుండి ఉద్యోగవిరమణ చేశారు. రవిచంద్ర ఓ చార్టెడ్ అకౌంటెట్… ముగ్గురూ సీనియర్ సిటిజన్సే. హైదారాబాద్‍లోని అమీర్‍పేటలో స్థిరనివాసం ఏర్పరచుకున్నారు. ప్రతిరోజూ ఉదయపు నడకలో మంచి స్నేహితులయ్యారు. తరుచూ కలుసుకుని తమ స్నేహలతను పెనవేసుకుంటూ, విడదీయలేని బంధాన్ని పెంచుకున్నారు.
ఇకపోతే డాన్! రవిచంద్రగారి పెంపుడు కుక్క. ఒకటి కాదు రెండు కాదు గత పదమూడు సంవత్సరాల నుండి రవిచంద్ర కుటుంబంలో, ఒక ముఖ్యమైన సభ్యుడిగా పెరుగుతూ ఆ కుటుంబ సభ్యుల నిష్కల్మషమైన ప్రేమాభిమానాలకు పాత్రుడయ్యాడు… డాన్..
గుడికెళ్ళిన సదానంద్ పూజ ముగించుకుని డాన్ ఆత్మకు శాంతి కలిగించమని ఆ దేవుడ్ని వేడుకున్నాడు. ఇంటికి రాగానే రవిచంద్రకు ఫోన్ చేశాడు సదానంద్.
“రవిచంద్రగారూ! జగన్నాధం గారు ఫోన్ చేసి చెప్పారు. డాన్ కాలం చేశాడట కదా! వినగానే చాలా బాధనిపించింది…
నిజానికి ప్రతి ఒక్కరి జనన మరణాలు, భగవంతుడు ముందే నిర్ణయిస్తాడు. మన చేతుల్లో ఏముంటుంది చెప్పండి?
మీరు మీవాళ్ళు గుండె దిటవు చేసుకుని ధైర్యంగా ఉండండి” అంటూ ధైర్యాన్ని నూరిపోశాడు సదానంద్.
“అలాగేనండీ మీరు చెప్పింది అక్షరాల నిజం కాని వాడిక మా మధ్యన ఉండడు అనుకున్నప్పుడు… గుండె పిండేసినట్లనిపిస్తుంది… ఈ విఘాతాన్ని తట్టుకోలేమండి సదానంద్ గారూ!” అంటున్న రవిచంద్ర స్వరం మూగవోయింది.
“అలాగంటే ఎలా అండి… మన ఆత్మీయులు, మనం అభిమానించేవాళ్ళు ఎవరైన చనిపోతే దిగులుపడటం… ఎంత సహజమో, రోజులు గడిచేకొద్దీ ఆ దిగులు పటాపంచలై… మనం సాధారణ జీవితం గడపడం కూడా అంతే సహజం…
అలాంటి దిగులును కాలక్రమేణా మరచిపోవడమనేది, భగవంతుడు మనకు ప్రసాదించిన ఓ గొప్ప వరం.
లేకపోతే సకల ప్రాణులు దుఃఖసంద్రంలో మునిగిపోయి, కృంగి కృశించి నశించి పోయేవారు.
మీరైతే ధైర్యంగా ఉండండి”
“చాలా థాంక్స్ సదానంద్ గారు… మీ మాటలు వింటుంటే, మనసు నిబ్బరిస్తుంది… మా బంధువులంతా వచ్చారు. ప్రస్తుతం మేమంతా… డాన్‍కు అంత్యక్రియలు జరిపే కార్యక్రమంలో ఉన్నాం. మా పొలంలోనే డాన్‍కు సమాధి కట్టించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు చేస్తున్నాం… మీతో నేను సాయంత్రం మాట్లాడతాను, ఉంటానండీ”
“సరేనండి ఉంటాను”

రవిచంద్రతో మాట్లాడుతుండగా అమెరికాలో ఉంటున్న తన కూతురు మాధవి తనతో మాట్లాడేందుకు రెండు సార్లు ప్రయత్నించినట్లు ఫోన్లో గమనించాడు సదానంద్. ఇంతలో మాధవి తనే ఫోన్ చేసింది.
“హలో! నాన్నగారూ! ఎవరితోనో చాలాసేపటి నుండి మాట్లాడుతున్నారే!”
“అవునమ్మా! నా ఫ్రెండ్ రవిచంద్ర గారితో. పాపం… వాళ్ళ పెంపుడు కుక్క రాత్రి చనిపోయింది. విపరీతంగా బాధపడుతున్నారు. అందుకే ఓదారుస్తూ మాట్లాడుతున్నాను.”
“అవునా! చాలా పెద్ద విషాదమే నాన్నగారు. అనుభవించిన దానిగా చెబుతున్నాను. మీకూ తెలుసుకదా! మా పెంపుడు పిల్లి బాస్ చనిపోయినపుడు ఆ తరువాత మేము అనుభవించిన బాధ అంతా యింత కాదు. ఇప్పటికీ బాస్ తాలూకు జ్ఞాపకాలు గుర్తుకొస్తుంటాయ్, బాధపడుతూనే ఉంటాం. అన్నట్లు… ఈ టైంలో మీ ఓదార్పు రవిచంద్రగారికి చాలా అవసరం. ప్రస్తుతానికి మరీ అంత్యముఖ్యమైన విషయాలేమీ లేవు. నేను తరువాత మట్లాడతానులే” అంటూ గద్గద స్వరంతో చెప్తూ ఫోన్ కట్ చేసింది.
బహుశా బాస్‍తో తన అనుబంధాన్ని తలచుకుని బాధపడుతూ మాట పెగలక… ఫోన్ డిస్‍కనెక్ట్ చేసి వుంటుందనుకున్నాడు సదానంద్.

ఆ రోజు ఉదయాన్నే కొడుకుని స్కూల్లో దించేందుకు ఇంటికెదురుగా పార్క్ చేసి వున్న కారు దగ్గరకు చేరుకుంది మాధవి. ఐదారు గజాల దూరంలో ఓ గట్టుపైన దర్జాగా కూర్చున్న ఓ అందమైన పిల్లి, తమవైపే తీక్షణంగా చూస్తూ కనిపించింది.
కారు స్టార్ట్ చేయగానే ఆ పిల్లి కారు వైపే చూసుకుంటూ… హుందాగా నడుచుకుంటూ తన యజమాని ఇంటికి బయలుదేరింది. ఇదే తంతు… ఓ వారం రోజుల పాటు జరుగుతూనే వుంది.
“ఈ పిల్లి రోజూ ఇలా ఎందుకు మమ్మల్నే చూస్తుంది? దీని యజమాని ఏ ఫ్లాట్‍లో వుంటారు?” తెలుసుకోవాలనే కుతూహలం కలిగింది మాధవికి.
ఆ రోజు కారు స్టార్ట్ చేసి నిదానంగా పిల్లి వైపు చూసుకుంటూ నడుపుతుంది మాధవి. అదే వరుసలో ఉన్న నాలుగో ఫ్లాట్ తలుపు దగ్గర ఆగి… “మ్యావ్… మ్యావ్” అని అరుస్తూ తలుపు పైన కాలిగోళ్ళతో గోకుతుంది.
తలుపు తెరిచిన ఓ నడివయసు అమెరికన్ మహిళ, ఆప్యాయంగా ఆ పిల్లిని ఎత్తుకుని లోపలికెళ్ళి తలుపు మూసేసింది.
“ఓహో! ఈ ఫ్లాట్‍వాళ్ళు పెంచుకునే పిల్లి ఇది” మాధవికి సందేహం నివృత్తి అయింది.
‘అది సరే! మరి ఆ పిల్లి రోజూ మా ఫ్లాట్ ముందుకు వచ్చి, మమ్మల్నే ఎందుకు చూస్తుంది?’ మనసులోనే అనుకుంటూ కారు నడుపుతుంది… మాధవి.
ఆ రోజు స్కూలుకు శలవు. కాని రోజూ స్కూలుకు బయలుదేరే సమయానికి ఆ పిల్లి మాధవి వాళ్ల ఇంటి ముందుకు వచ్చి “మ్యావ్.. మ్యావ్” అంటూ తలుపుపైన కాలిగోళ్ళతో గోకుతుంది. తలుపు తీసి చూస్తే అదే పిల్లి. ఒక్క ఉదుటున పరిగెత్తుకుంటూ ఇంట్లోకి వచ్చింది. ఇల్లంతా తిరుగుతూ అక్కడక్కడ ఆగుతూ… ప్రతిదాన్ని నిశితంగా గమనిస్తుంది.. అది ఎందుకలా చేస్తుందో అర్థం కాలేదు మాధవికి.
ఇంట్లో వున్న తినుబండారాన్ని ఉంచిన పళ్ళాన్ని ఆ పిల్లి ముందు ఉంచింది. కాని అది ఏమి తినకుండా బయటకు పరుగు తీసింది. ఆ పిల్లి, అలా ఇంట్లోకి వచ్చి, ఇల్లంతా పరిశీలించి వెళ్ళింది. ఎందుకలా చేసింది? ఆలోచించసాగింది మాధవి.
ఓ రెండు రోజులు గడిచాయి. ఆ రోజు కూడా పిల్లి ఇంట్లోకి వచ్చింది. పెట్టిన ఆహారాన్ని తృప్తిగా తిని, పాలు కూడా తాగింది. తరువాత బయటకు వెళ్ళలేదు. హాల్లోనే ఓ మూల పడుకుంది. ఈ హఠాత్పరిణామానికి ఆశ్చర్యపోయింది మాధవి.
ఈ పిల్లి బయటకు వెళ్ళకుండా ఇక్కడే వుందేంటి? ఇకముందు మా ఇంట్లోనే వుంటుందా? నో… నో… అదెలా సాధ్యం? దాని యజమాని దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళి విషయం చెప్తే మంచిదేమో!…. అవును… అదే సరైన పద్ధతి… అనుకుంటూ దాని యజమాని ఫ్లాటు దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళి కాలింగ్‍బెల్ నొక్కింది మాధవి. స్పందన లేదు. మరో రెండు మూడు సార్లు కాలింగ్ బెల్ నొక్కినా అదే పరిస్థితి… ‘బహుశా ఆ యజమాని ఇంట్లో లేనట్లుంది’ అనుకుంటూ వెనుదిరిగింది మాధవి.
రెండో రోజు కూడా ఆ పిల్లి మాధవి ఇంట్లోనే ఉంది. ఆ యజమాని ఫ్లాట్ దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళి చూస్తుంటే తను ఆ ఫ్లాట్‍లో లేదు. ఏమయ్యుంటుంది అని ఆలోచిస్తూ ఇంటి ముఖం పట్టింది మాధవి.
అమెరికన్లలో కొంతమంది కొన్ని కారణాల వల్ల ఒంటరి జీవితం గడుపుతుంటారు. అలాంటివాళ్ళు వాళ్ళకు తోడుగా కుక్కనో, పిల్లినో ప్రాణప్రదంగా పెంచుకుంటుంటారు.
వాళ్ళలో కొందరు ఉన్నట్లుండి కనబడకుండా పోతుంటారు. బహుశా ఏదైనా ప్రమాదంలో మరణించి ఉండవచ్చు. ఏదైనా కేసులో పోలీసులు అరెస్టు చేసి ఉండవచ్చు లేదా కిడ్నాప్‍కు గురై ఉండవచ్చు. బహుశా అలాంటిదేదో ఆ పిల్లి యజమానికి జరిగిందేమో.
ఏమైతేనేం విషయం తెలుసుకుందామని ఆ అపార్ట్‌మెంటు కార్యాలయానికి వెళ్ళి విచారించింది మాధవి. వాళ్లు చెప్తే తెలిసింది. ఆ యజమాని గత రెండు సంవత్సరాలుగా ఏదో వ్యాధితో బాధపడుతుండేదిట! చికిత్స కోసం ఓ పెద్దసుపత్రిలో చేరిందట! చేరిన మూడోరోజే చనిపోయిందట! నా అన్న వాళ్ళు ఎవరూ రాకపోయేసరికి ఆసుపత్రి వాళ్ళు ఆ శవాన్ని అనాథ శవాలకు అంతిమ సంస్కారాలు జరిపించే ఓ స్వచ్చంద సేవా సంస్థకు అప్పగించారట!
అంటే ఆ పిల్లికి తన యజమాని మరణం గురించి ముందే తెలిసిందన్నమాట! అందుకే యజమాని మరణానంతరం, తను ఉండేందుకు… ఓ అనువైన ఇంటిని, సరైన మనుషుల్ని ఎన్నుకొనే నేపథ్యంలో ఆ పిల్లి తమ వద్దకు చేరుకుందనే విషయం తేటతెల్లమైంది మాధవికి.
వడివడిగా అడుగులేస్తూ ఇంటికి చేరుకున్న మాధవికి, ఎదురుగా దిగులుగా కూర్చుని వున్న ఆ పిల్లిని చూస్తే జాలితో కళ్ళు చెమ్మగిల్లాయి.
నిజమే! తనెంతో అభిమానంగా, ఆప్యాయంగా అక్కున చేర్చుకునే యజమాని, కనిపించకపోవడం వల్ల కలిగే బాధను భరిస్తూ, బెదురుచూపులు చూస్తూ… వణికిపోతుంది!
ఒక్కసారిగా ఆ పిల్లిని ఎత్తుకుని గుండెకు హత్తుకుని ప్రేమతో దాని తలను నిమిరింది మాధవి.
ఇకముందు తన జీవితానికి ఓ భరోసా, ఓ ఆసరా లభించిందనే సంతోషపు వెలుగులు ఆ పిల్లి కళ్ళల్లో ప్రస్ఫుటంగా కనిపించాయి మాధవికి.
వెంటనే ఆ పిల్లి సౌకర్యార్థం ఓ మూలగా చిన్న పరుపు పరచింది. దగ్గర్లోనే నీళ్ళ గిన్నెను కూడా ఉంచింది. ఆ రోజు సాయంత్రమే పెట్ స్టోర్‍కు వెళ్ళి నెలకు సరిపడా పెట్ ఫుడ్‍ని తెచ్చింది. అపార్టుమెంట్ ఆఫీసుకు వెళ్ళి మూడువందల డాలర్లు ఫీజుగా చెల్లించి ఆ పిల్లిని తమ ఇంట్లోనే వుంచుకునేందుకు అనుమతి పత్రాన్ని తీసుకుంది.
కొద్దిరోజుల్లోనే ఆ పిల్లి ఇంట్లో వాళ్ళందరికీ బాగా దగ్గరయింది. మాధవి వాళ్ళబ్బాయి ఆ పిల్లికి ‘బాస్’ అనే నామకరణం కూడా చేశాడు.
రోజులు గడిచేకొద్ది మాధవి కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరితో కలిసి సంతోషంగా, తృప్తిగా జీవనం సాగిస్తుంది బాస్. మాధవి వాళ్ళు కూడా బాస్ తమపై చూపించే ప్రేమాతిశయంతో పరవశించిపోతున్నారు.
ఒకరోజు ఉదయం లేచేసరికి కనిపించిన దృశ్యాన్ని చూసి హతాశయురాలైంది మాధవి. వెంటనే భర్తని, కొడుకుని నిద్రలేపింది.
ఏడుస్తున్న మాధవిని చూసి, వాళ్ళిద్దరూ గాబరా పడుతూ ఏమైందని అడిగారు. మారు మాట్లాడకుండా వాళ్ళిద్దర్నీ హాల్లోకి తీసుకెళ్ళింది. అక్కడ బాస్ వెనుక కాళ్ళను, భూమిపైన ఈడ్చుకుంటూ, ముందు కాళ్ళతో ముందుకు నడువలేక పడుతూ లేస్తున్నాడు.
ఎప్పుడూ హుషారుగా, హుందాగా, రాజసం ఉట్టిపడేలా నడిచే బాస్‍ను… ఆ స్థితిలో చూసి నిర్ఘాంతపోయి కళ్ళప్పగించి చూస్తూ నిలబడిపోయారు వాళ్ళంతా… కొద్దిసేపటికి తేరుకుని బాస్‍ని పశువుల ఆసుపత్రికి తీసుకుని వెళ్ళారు.
పరిశీలించిన డాక్టర్ ఆ పిల్లికి వయసైపోయిందని, ఒక్కో అవయవం పనిచేయడం మానేస్తుందని, కొద్దిరోజుల్లోనే చనిపోతుందనే నమ్మశక్యం కాని నిజాన్ని వివరించాడు. డాక్టరు మాటలు వారి చెవుల్లో శరాఘాతాల్లా గుచ్చుకొన్నాయి.
చేసేది లేక బాస్‍ను ఇంటికి తెచ్చి డాక్టర్ ఇచ్చిన మందుల్ని వాడుతూ, సపర్యలు చేస్తూ ఉండిపోయారు. అలా మూడు రోజులు గడిచాయి. మందులు వాడుతున్నా… బాస్ పరిస్థితి… రోజురోజుకీ దిగజారిపోతుంది. నాలుగోరోజు ఉదయం బాస్ తుది శ్వాస విడిచాడు. ఇల్లంతా శోకసంద్రంగా మారింది.
రోజులు గడుస్తున్నాయ్…
బాస్ తాలూకు జ్ఞాపకాలు నెమరు వేసుకుంటూ బాధను దిగమింగుకుంటూ, ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే సాధారణ జీవితాన్ని గడుపుతున్నారు మాధవి వాళ్ళు.

చెప్పినట్లే రవిచంద్ర ఆ రోజు సాయంత్రం సదానంద్‍కి ఫోన్ చేశాడు. మాటలను బట్టిచూస్తే… కొంచెం తేరుకున్నాడనిపించింది.
డాన్… గురించి చెప్తూ…
“వాడండీ… ఎంత ప్రేమండీ వాడికి మేమంటే… మమ్మల్ని చూడకుండా ఒక గంట కూడా ఉండలేడంటే నమ్మండి… మాకూ అంతే అనుకోండి… ఇక ఇంట్లో వాడి డామినేషన్ చూడాలండీ… మా అందర్ని ఓ ఆట ఆడించేవాడంటే నమ్మండి… ఏది తక్కువైనా ఒప్పకునేవాడు కాదు.
వాడి కోసం ప్రత్యేకమై పడక, ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆహారం… మరీ ముఖ్యంగా ఆవు నెయ్యి, ఏ మాత్రం తేడా వచ్చినా సహించేవాడు కాదు. ఆఖరికి మా పిల్లలు కూడా అంతగా చలాయించేవారు కాదంటే నమ్మండి… ఏ జన్మలోని అనుభంధమో తెంచుకుని వెళ్లిపోయాడు.
ఏమైతేనేం… ఆ జాతి జీవితకాలం పదమూడు, పధ్నాలుగేళ్లేనట! అంటే వాడు… తన జీవితకాలం పరిపూర్ణంగా, హాయిగా, తృప్తిగా, ఏ లోటూ లేకుండా, మా యింట్లో మహారాజులా జీవించాడండి…
ఏవైనా చెప్పండి…. వాడి ముద్దు చేష్టలు, వాడు మా పై చూపించిన ప్రేమానురాగాలను మరిచిపోలేక పోతున్నామండీ…” అంటూ రవిచంద్ర అలా చెప్పుకుపోతుంటే, చెవులప్పగించి వినడం సదానంద్ వంతయింది.
“మొత్తానికి మీకు మంచి జ్ఞాపకాలనే మిగిల్చి వెళ్లిపోయాడు డాన్… ఆ జ్ఞాపకాల తీపి గుర్తులతో మీరు మళ్లీ… మీ సాధారణ జీవనం కొనసాగించండి. మీరు అదే పనిగా దిగులు పడినా… వాడు తట్టుకోలేడని నా కనిపిస్తుంది. మరి వాడి కోసమైనా మీరు మామూలుగా ఉండటానికి ప్రయత్నించండి” అని సలహా యిచ్చాడు సదానంద్.
“తప్పకుండా… మీ సలహాను పాటిస్తాను. డాన్ కోసమైనా నేనలా ఉండాలి కదా!…
ఏమైనప్పటేకీ, ఈ కష్టకాలంలో మీ సాంత్వన పలుకులు నాకు ఎంతో ఊరట నిచ్చాయి… మీకు నా ధన్యవాదాలు” చెప్పాడు రవిచంద్ర.
“ఇంకో విషయం. రేపు మద్యాహ్నం… నేను, మీరూ, జగన్నాధం గారు… తాజ్ దక్కన్‌లో లంచ్ చేద్దాం…. జస్ట్ ఫర్ ఎ ఛేంజ్…. ఓ.కె.నా” అడిగాడు సదానంద్.
“ఓ… అలాగే కానిద్దాం… మరి వుంటానండి.”
“సరేనండి.”

చూస్తుండగానే… ఆరు నెలలు కాలం, ఆట్టే గతించింది.
ఒక రోజు..
“హాల్లో… సదానంద్ గారూ! సాయంత్రం ఓ సారి మా ఇంటికి రాగలరా?” ఫోన్లో అడిగాడు రవిచంద్ర.
“వస్తాను గాని… ఏటండి… విశేషం.”
“ఏం లేదు… మా అబ్బాయి… ఓ కుక్క పిల్లను కొనుక్కొచ్చాడు… వాడికి కూడా డాన్ అనే పేరు పెట్టాము… వాడ్ని చూసేందుకు, మిమ్మల్ని పిలుస్తున్నాను… అంతే.”
“ఓ… షూర్… తప్పక వస్తాను.”
‘అంటే… డాన్ 2.0 శకం ఆరంభమైందన్న మాట…’ మనసులోనే అనుకున్నాడు సదానంద్.
మరి కాసేపటికి, మాధవి నుండి ఫోన్… మాటల చివర్లో…
“నాన్నగారూ ఓ విశేషం… రెండు రోజుల నుండి, ఓ పిల్లి మనింట్లోనే వుంటుంది. అచ్చం… బాస్… లానే వుంది. వాట్సప్‌లో వీడియో తీసి పంపాను. చూడండి. అన్నట్లు… దాని పేరు కూడా బాస్ అనే పెట్టాము.”
“ఓ… షూర్… తప్పక చూస్తాను”
‘అంటే… బాస్ 2.0 శకం ఆరంభమైందన్నమాట…’ మనసులోనే అనుకున్నాడు సదానంద్.
“ఇంకేం, ఇక్కడా… అక్కడా… రెండూ చోట్లా… ఒకే సారి ‘సీక్వెల్’ స్టార్టయిందన్నమాట!” అనుకుంటూ నిట్టూర్చాడు సదానంద్.
ఆంధ్రాబ్యాంకు లో ప్రాంతీయ అధికారి హోదా లో ఉద్యోగ విరమణ చేసిన తరువాత , తన కెంతో ఇష్టమైన రచనా వ్యాసంగాన్ని ఎంచుకొని , కథలు,నాటికలు,నవలలు వ్రాస్తూ ముందుకెళ్తున్నారు.

పెంపుడు జంతువుల పై కథనం చాలా బాగుంది.
ఇది కథేకాదు చాల వాస్తవం కూడా. ఎందుకంటే మాఇంట్లో కూడా ” సీజర్” అనే కుక్క పది సంవత్సరాలుగా వుంది. అది చూపే ప్రేమ ఎంతో గొప్పగా వుంటుంది. మా కుటుంబంలో, మా జీవితాలలో ఒక భాగంగా అయిపోయింది. ఇంట్లో అందరం కలసి ఎక్కడికి వెళ్ళలేము. ఎవరోఒకరు దానికోసం ఇంట్లో వుండాలి. ఇంట్లో ఎవరైనా బయటకు వెళ్ళిరాగానే రెండుకాళ్ళు ఎత్తి పెట్టి పలకరిస్తుంది. నిజంగా అలవాటైతే మాత్రం అది ఒక విడదీయరాని బంధం.

Very touching story Sir… నిజానికి మన భారతదేశంలో కన్నా విదేశాల్లో జంతుప్రేమ మరీ ఎక్కువ గా వుంటుంది.. పెట్ ని ఇంట్లో ఒక మెంబర్ లా ట్రీట్ చేస్తారు. కుక్కను కుక్కన్నా సహించరు.. అంతగా ముద్దు చేస్తారు, మూతి మీదే ముద్దులిస్తారు.. పక్కలోనే పడుకోబెట్టుకుంటారు… వీళ్ళ అనుబంధం చూసినప్పుడల్లా శునకాల జీవితకాలం అంత తక్కువగా ఇచ్చి దేవుడు అన్యాయం చేసాడనిపిస్తుంది. నా సగం జీవితం శునకసేవలోనే గడిచిపోయింది… మీ కథ నా గత స్మృతులనన్నింటినీ మేల్కొలిపింది….

Just now I read the story.
Quite interesting. There is a grip in the story till the last line. The attachment of mankind with pet animals is well expressed. Generally if we develop attachment they will become part of our lives.
Ending is very nice sir and is very apt.
Generally, if any one is having the interest of nurturing the pet animals, they can not come out that.
Further they can not come out the shock if they lose their loved ones, Pets.

I once again appreciate the writer for choosing the habit of writing after retirement. Especitally in present conditions. This habit is full time passing & gives full satisfaction to our heart & helps our brain in avoiding unnecessary thoughts .Thus we Will be in a fitt condition in all aspects.
Now coming reg.the story “don&boss” as soon as I read it I recollected the picture recently I saw by name “Tommy ” a dog its attchment with his master (famous Actor Rajendra Prasad).The Tommy used to follow his master everyday both morning & evening while he is going to office & coming back. Even after his master’s death also it continued the same waiting for his master at Rly.station not staying with master’s family though they requested it to come back & stay with them. It waited there only till its death.
While seeing the pic.I didn’t think in depth but now after reading your story I recognised its value & made me to recollect the picture.
From our previous generation I heard that animals will forecast what happens in comming day. But not able to tell as they can’t speak but can give indications only. Same the writer nicely narated in his story in a simple way so that all can understand the animals attachment towards their masters who looks after them with care &affection.
Finally I wish all the best to the writer in future & long life since we that type of writers always.
